I went through the same thing after I finished nursing. After trying and crying to get them back in myself, I went to a tattoo parlor and had them put them back in for me. All they do is use a taper pin to ahem, open them up more. The holes are still open, just shrunken. No big deal for professionals. :) Good luck. OH have I been there. Reminds of the time I had to remove a patient's nipple ring. He's had it for 25 years and it took me 30 minutes to convince him he needed to remove it, and only 5 seconds to remove it. I used a straight bar first, and once the hole was relaxed and lubed up, I was able to get the hoops back through.
